Rejection has kept numerous people from moving forward. Many have unfulfilled destinies. Even prophetic people experience rejection at levels that are all too common. Rejection is a destructive force. Jeremiah, the prophet, was alerted to one symptom of rejection, fear. And don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken! (Jer. 1:9). Fear, isolation, mental illnesses, victim mentality, depression, disconnectedness, perfectionalism, people pleasing, infirmity, etc. are all symptoms of rejection. The innate desire to connect and be a part of something or someone is a powerful force. For some, the desire to belong is so strong it can lead to some very destructive behaviors and relationships. But Christ came to destroy the spirit of rejection and set His people free! So, how can one maneuver through rejection? |
