In every generation, God raises up scribal watchmen prophets. They are watchful in spirit and faithful with the pen. Scribal Watchmen Prophets are prophetic messengers; God's inkhorns who align with His heart in prayer. The Scribal Watchman Prophet will see, hear, and write what’s on God’s heart with clarity, conviction, and spiritual authority. Their pen is a weapon; their ink is the anointing which flows from the throne room of heaven to humankind. Scribal Watchmen Prophets find alignment in prayer. God commissions and trains them. God called Ezekiel as a watchman to the House of Israel. Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll. And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness. Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel, not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. But the house of Israel will not listen to you, because they will not listen to Me; for all the house of Israel are impudent and hard-hearted. Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.” Moreover, He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.” Ezekiel 3:1-11 God gave Ezekiel a scroll to eat with a message to the house of Israel. Ezekiel digests the message. At first it was sweet like honey, before the words turns bitter. Scribal Watchman training is not a college course one joins. Equipping is a divine process led by God, does nor does the Scribal Watchman Prophet self-appoint themselves. God Himself will equip and train their hands and fingers. “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.” Psalm 144:1 The Scribal Watchman Prophet encounters “warfare” that includes spiritual battles of identity, obedience, and boldness in the midst of cultural compromise. But remember, God always qualifies the called. The qualification process for the Scribal Watchman Prophet happens in quiet places. This process includes rejection, wilderness seasons, and inner transformation. God called Ezekiel as a watchman for the house of Israel. “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore, hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me.” Ezekiel 3:17 The scribal watchman prophet hears from God and releases His message with accuracy and urgency. But make no mistake, training often comes with testing. The Lord refines the character of His scribal watchmen to prepare them to release the full weight of His message. Hebrews 12:11 says, “No chastening chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." He teaches them to distinguish their voice and His, to wait for His timing, and to write what He says. Training could come through deep intercession. Or through dreams, visions, or prophetic journaling. But all Scribal Watchmen Prophets receive training through the Word of God and prayer. God trains His Inkhorn writers to yield peaceable fruit of righteousness. The training may feel like delay, isolation, or spiritual pressure. But in truth, it is God's divine preparation. As you embrace the call of the Scribal Watchman Prophet, remember that God shapes your character prior to using your gift. Your obedience must precede your influence. God forms the Scribal Watchman Prophet to become His prophetic vessel and anointed inkhorn. They move equipped to carry and release His word to their assigned sphere of influence. God’s prophetic vessels are willing containers for His voice. Scribal Watchman Prophets refined by fire, rooted in love, and faithful to deliver the Word with boldness and integrity.
