Luke 14:28 is a message to all who desire to build.  Perhaps you are not building a physical edifice, but maybe you  want to write a book, start a business, go back to school, or increase your prayer life.  Whatever it is it's going to cost you something.  It may not be financial, but it will definitely require that you to

Seek first to understand,
then to be understood."
~Stephen Covey

A Kingdom-driven creative entrepreneur is one who purposefully aligns his or her creativity with God's Kingdom.  Once the commitment to fulfill your assignment is accepted it is up to YOU to do the work!  And, in spite of all the marketing strategies that promise a quick and easy path to success, in reality, there are no shortcuts!  Maybe you can write a book in 20 minutes, a weekend, or seven days, but I guarantee you that book is full of grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and only God knows what other type of errors.  I'm just saying, if you are a KINGDOM-driven entrepreneur, small and consistent is what creates fruitful and long lasting success.  Zechariah 4:10 says,

Kingdom driven creatives allow Holy Spirit to lead them in their day-to-day operations.  And, while this sounds great, in reality, it can be a challenge... at first.  Why do I say this?  I'm glad you asked.  The flesh is always at war with the spirit.  It wants to do what it wants, when it wants, no questions asked.  However, to allow Holy Spirit to lead requires some work.

This work will require that you learn the art of listening.  Listen with your spirit, which requires knowing how to distinguish Holy Spirit's voice.  Yes, Holy Spirit has a voice.  How else can he teach you all things, even the things to come (John 14:26)?

As Kingdom driven creative entrepreneurs the ability to prosper creatively is achieved when one is able to listen and hear Holy Spirit.  Listening is a skill that can be learned.  And the more you want to hear, the more Holy Spirit will speak.  Shh... listen Holy Spirit wants to talk to you!
